American Electronic Components designs and manufactures a broad range of specialized electrical and electronic components, including highly engineered custom sensors, high-performance industrial relays and switches, as well as other electromechanical products. Technology

AEC has developed a culture that encourages practical innovation in core competencies of magnetics, sealing, packaging and electronic design. Magnetic transducers and hermetically sealed switch technologies are configured into sensors suitable for the most rigorous automotive environments, where rotation, position or inertia must be monitored. AEC's sensors are developed using multiple technologies dependent upon application specifics.

AEC works hand in hand with our customers to understand and satisfy their unique requirements throughout all phases of product development, testing and production. AEC's comprehensive approach to program management delivers compressed program cycles with reduced costs.

Manufacturing Facilities

AEC has manufacturing facilities in Elkhart, Indiana with over 65,000 square feet under roof.

Lafayette Street:

Produces industrial switch and relay products under the DURAKOOL brand name for the Industrial Market, and ball switch products for the Automotive Market. The facility is "best in class" for tilt-switch production and has expertise in glass-to-metal sealing (HERMASEAL), inert gas encapsulation, metal annealing and coil winding. It is UL/CSA, and ISO 9000 certified.
