Brazing is a metal bonding process whereby a filler metal is heated above melting point and distributed between two or more close fitting parts by capillary action. Brazing necessitates high temperature firing and to avoid oxidation of the metal surface a non oxygen atmosphere is required.

Brazing takes place in a computer controlled vacuum chamber. This process requires special care for metals with high vapour pressure e.g., silver.
