Save Weight & Reduce Battery Pack Size

The Durakool DG85CM magnetic arc blowout relay, with a maximum switching voltage of 145 VDC provides the perfect solution for modern electric vehicles, which use increasingly higher battery voltages to save weight and reduce battery pack size. Typical EV systems might use 48VDC, 72VDC or 80VDC. These voltages are difficult to switch using traditional relays. Relays of this type are generally used to switch capacitive or inductive loads which can cause contact failures (welding) with other contact materials. The DG85CM electric vehicle relay features AgSnO2 contacts with high inrush capability 150A@ 12.8VDC, overcoming difficulties in switching.
